Guided by their mission to improve the health of the people in the communities it serves, Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is a is a Joint Commission-accredited 93-bed, level IV trauma center serving Del Rio, Texas, and the neighboring communities. Since 1959, VVRMC has made local health care and medical treatment its first priority. Since then they have expanded their facility, enhanced their diagnostic and treatment capabilities, added new services, improved their efficiency, and staffed a team of caring healthcare professionals.
Services offered at VVRMC include medical services, hospice care, a full-service imaging center, an intensive care unit, outpatient counseling for senior adults, surgery, respiratory care, inpatient dialysis, rehabilitation services including physical, speech and occupational therapy, and a special procedures unit including a cardiac catherization lab. Nearly 1,000 babies were born in the Women’s Center at VVRMC in 2012. VVRMC has a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) available 24 hours a day to assist victims of sexual assault.
The emergency department at VVRMC is a fully-equipped, eight-bed, level IV trauma center. In addition to the emergency department, highly trained medical professionals at Val Verde Health Clinic provide urgent care services to treat minor injuries and illnesses.
