Argarita Drive eastbound traffic cannot crossover to US 90 NB.

Effective Oct.  31 – No left turn from Argarita Drive eastboundonto US 90 (Veterans Blvd.) northbound in Del Rio/Val Verde County

October 30, 2017LAREDO – Effective October 31, 2017, traffic on eastbound Argarita Drive headed toward US 90 (Veterans Blvd.) and the crossoverbetween US 90 northbound (NB) and southbound (SB), four-lane divided US 90 Highway in Del Rio/Val Verde County WILL NOT be able to turn left onto US 90 NB, permanently; this after an on-site traffic study was conducted and it was determined the closure of theaforementioned crossover is better alternative for the safety of the traveling public. (The contractor will place a raised center median and delineators where this crossover once existed.)TO REITERATE, Argarita Drive eastbound traffic cannot crossover to US 90 NB.Detour: Motorists traveling on eastbound Argarita Drive wishing continued travel on US 90 NB must turn right to US 90 SB, thentravel to the traffic signal at Kings Way for a left turn on US 90 NB. (No US 90 SB to NB turnaround exists.)  The only traffic movements allowed at the Argarita Drive/US 90 intersection will be as follows:
  • US 90 SB may use the SB to NB turnaround at Argarita Drive to travel on US 90 NB
  • US 90 NB may turn left onto Argarita Drive or use the US 90 NB to SB turnaround for travel on US 90 SB.
Motorists should slow down, prepare for detour and anticipate travel delays.
